The Buckminster Fuller Institute invites you to attend The 2010 Buckminster Fuller Challenge Conferring Ceremony
On Wednesday June 2nd, we will announce the winner of the 2010 Buckminster Fuller Challenge, at The National Press Club at 12 p.m. The Challenge is the world's only large prize program rewarding integrated, whole-systems approaches to solving the world’s sustainability crises. The winner will receive a $100,000 prize to support the development and implementation of their strategy to solve humanity's complex and entrenched problems.
All six finalists have submitted game changing strategies addressing issues from range land management to urban farming, and will be present for the ceremony.
This includes:
• Bunker Roy from India's Barefoot College
• Allan Savory from the African Center for Holistic Studies
• Jason McLellan + Eden Bruckman from Seattle's Living Building Challenge
• Stacy Murphy of Brooklyn's BK Farmyards
• Martin Buchholz from Berlin-based Watergy Greenhouse
• Martin Felson + Sarah Dunn of Chicago's Eco-Boulevards
Members of the distinguished 2010 jury attending include Hilary Brown, Ryan Chin, Sasha Dichter, Susan Szenasy, Hardin Tibbs and Jose Zaglul. Members of the Board of Directors of The Buckminster Fuller Institute, Fuller's family, other dignitaries and special guests will also be in attendance.
The conferring ceremony will be followed immediately by a reception.
This event is free and open to the public and is part of a two-day convergence culminating with opening night of the critically acclaimed one-man show R. Buckminster Fuller : The History (and Mystery) of the Universe at the renowned Arena Stage Theatre.
